Volkswagen ID.Buzz will launch on March 9 with an all-electric “van” worth more than 400,000 yuan.

Since the “diesel gate” was exposed in the United States, Volkswagen has focused its future development on new energy vehicles and has been active in the transformation of electric vehicles. After building the all-electric MEB platform, Volkswagen launched a series of all-electric models based on the platform, including ID.3, ID.4 and ID.6, with more models to follow.Volkswagen has announced that its new all-electric MPV, ID.Buzz, will be unveiled on March 9 and will be showcased for the first time at South By Southwest in Austin, Texas, on March 11.But the cars on display are European versions.”The Volkswagen Minivan has been a symbol of cultural ideals that inspire change and drive progress in the United States and around the world,” said Scott Keogh, president and CEO of Volkswagen Group USA.”South by Southwest’s commitment to innovation and technology, coupled with its showcase of culture and creativity, makes it an ideal showcase for id.Buzz’s public debut. We are excited to bring ID.Buzz to Austin to showcase the innovations contained in the latest addition to our electric vehicle lineup.”The ID.Buzz, an electrified interpretation of VW’s beloved classic Type 2 Microbus, will be on display outside the Austin Convention Center and will provide informative and entertaining demonstrations for passers-by.Commenting on the rollout of ID.Buzz, Keogh said, “We have accelerated the transition to electric vehicles in the U.S. and we plan to continue leading the way.”The new car has been unofficially shown several times before, with its exterior and interior exposed, partly in a short film of its own and partly in spy shots of the test vehicle. In terms of appearance, although the current exposed photos are covered with strict camouflage, the van’s body shape and the design of front and rear light groups are still clear at a sight. For example, the through-through style is consistent with the ID family, which is more modern and scientific.Inside the car, the style of the new car has not changed much compared with the existing ID family models. Red decoration is added to the main color matching black and white, which is quite fashionable. The center console is equipped with a suspended LCD instrument and a touch screen, and the steering wheel also uses a touch button, full of scientific and technological sense. The powertrain, for which VW has not released details, will reportedly be offered in a model with a 77kWh battery pack.In terms of price, according to German media sources, the ID.Buzz will start at nearly 60,000 euros, or about 436,000 yuan, which is close to the starting price of buick GL8 Avea.Would you buy such an electric MPV?
